Jonathan Masters practices law with Holcomb Dunbar Attorneys which provides legal services across Mississippi and Tennessee from his office in Oxford, Mississippi.
Jonathan’s legal work focuses on helping businesses defend themselves when litigation arises. This includes insurance provided litigation, contract disputes, accidents, employment-related issues, defective products as well as workers’ compensation.
This litigation experience also affords Jonathan a unique perspective in assisting small businesses before litigation arises. This includes the drafting and negotiation of corporate or partnership agreements, employment compliance issues, vendor agreements, employment contracts to any number of issues which arise in the operation of a company in today’s environment.
Jonathan received his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law, cum laude, in 1998. While in law school, he was a member Phi Alpha Delta and recipient of the Wright Family Law Award. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Alabama with emphasis in Public Relations and Political Science.
Jonathan is a frequent speaker and writer for the National Business Institute presenting continuing legal education courses to other lawyers concerning insurance litigation, including, Litigating the Insurance Claim; Insurance Coverage Litigation (NBI, 2006); Interpreting Coverage Under the Insurance Contract (NBI, 2006); Insurance Policy Interpretation, Nuances that Impact Your Case (NBI, 2006); Defend UM/UIM Cases – And Win (NBI, 2007); Avoid Ethical Potholes, Settling Uninsured and Underinsured (NBI, 2007); and Ethics for the Modern Day Lawyer (University of Mississippi, CLE).
Jonathan is an approved mediator by the Mississippi Bar Association. He has also served as a special master for the Coahoma County Chancery Court, and Public Defender for the Clarksdale Municipal Court.
